What to expect

The 1837 Barossa commemorates the date on which Colonel William Light, founder of Adelaide and first Surveyor-General of South Australia named the Barossa in December 1837. The Barossa Colonel Light Monument, a life-size bronze monument of Colonel Light on horseback and the iconic Barossa Manor honour the birthplace of Barossa on the estate. A tribute to which 1837 wine makers dedicate their wines year after year.

- Wine tasting of four reserve wines inclduing sparkling ($30 Tasting Board)

On the way out you will have a chance to take pictures of the Col. Light Monument and you can enjoy the full 360-degree views from the historic point. You will be able to walk the art trail which allows you to take pictures of the many colorful sculptures which includes the “Wings of Barossa” where you can pose as an angel between two giant wings that overlook the vineyards. You will have a chance to take some final pictures from the supersized baroque picture frame allowing you to pose with fantastic views of the Barossa Valley and Range in the background or you can take a picture of yourself in front of the iconic 12m long colorful BAROSSA sign; a beautiful memory of the Barossa to share with family and friends.
