What to expect

This incredible APT 8 day land journey through South Australia’s outback takes you deep into the heart of rugged landscapes and rare natural wonders over several unforgettable days. You’ll witness the extraordinary sight of Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre from above, where the Georgina, Diamantina and Cooper Creeks flood together to form a dazzling inland sea – a spectacle not seen in years. From your scenic flight, watch the desert transform as shimmering waters attract flocks of birdlife and bring the Outback to life.

Your adventure continues with a flight over the Painted Hills, where red, orange and purple layers ripple across rocky outcrops like an artist’s canvas. You’ll traverse the remote Oodnadatta Track, explore the dramatic gorges of Ikara–Flinders Ranges National Park, and stay within the park itself for exclusive access to the natural amphitheatre of Wilpena Pound. Along the way, enjoy locally inspired dining, time in legendary towns like Birdsville and Port Augusta, and the insights of your expert Driver-Guide.

Save up to $100 per person*: This offer is valid on select trips and departure dates until 31 August 2025 or until sold out (whichever is earlier). The amounts saved will vary whether the booking is per couple or per person. Any available credit is not transferrable or redeemable for cash. To obtain this offer, a non-refundable deposit per person is due within seven (7) days of booking and final payment will be due 100 days prior to the tour's departure date. If any of these payment dates are not complied with, then the offer may be revoked. Our standard terms and conditions will also apply.
