4WD Three Day Camping Kakadu and Litchfield Tour
Head to the Outback to experience hikes, swimming in waterfalls and plunge pools plus wildlife and culture in the Kakadu & Litchfield National Park!
What to expect
Journey into the Australian Outback for an incredible 3 Day/2 Night camping adventure in the Kakadu and Litchfield National park from Darwin. You will camp, swim and hike in the outdoors plus learn about the rich Indigenous history associated with Kakadu and Litchfield on this 3 Day Tour. On the first day of the tour join a wildlife cruise on the Corroboree Billabong before a picnic lunch at the East Alligator River Ban to spot crocodiles and flying foxes. The final stop of the day is at Ubirr Rock to see ancient rock art and witness panoramic views of the Nardav floodplain and Arnhemland. Spend the first night camping under the stars at the base of an escarpment at Garnamarr with a traditional BBQ dinner consisting of Aussie tucker. Take the opportunity to taste Kangaroo, Buffalo and crocodile meat.
Get a jump start on the second day for a sunrise walk at the Arnhemland Escarpment at Twin Falls and swim in the natural pools. After lunch hike to Jim Jim Falls and be dwarfed by the towering sandstone cliffs. Set up camp at Litchfield for the final night in the outback. The final day of tour is all about swimming in beautiful waterfalls. Visit Wangi Falls and Florence Falls. As you return to Darwin, see the impressive natural phenomena of the Giant Cathedral Termite and Magnetic Termite mounds which can reach up to 5 metres tall. The 3 Day Kakadu and Litchfield tour operates from May to October every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

Itinerary
- Your guide will have excellent knowledge of the area and of the Aboriginal history specialising in Kakadu and Litchfield. These areas are both environmentally and culturally sensitive and are restricted to special access permit holders only, of which are included in this tour package.
- Departing from from selected Darwin accommodation begin your adventure towards Kakadu to join a wildlife cruise on Corroborree Billabong. Bring along your camera and snap some fantastic photos of the local wildlife. Disembark the cruise, we continue your drive towards the Kakadu National Park
- Continue on with your journey toward Kakadu National Park, stop to enjoy lunch by the East Alligator River ban. Keep an eye out for possible crocs and flying foxes sightings
- Then on to the world famous Ubirr Rock in the north of the park, visit the Ancient rock art and staggering 360º views over the Nardab floodplain and Arnhemland
- Camp at an exclusive safari camp at Garnamarr at the base of the escarpment and within the National Par
- Dinner tonight is a traditional Aussie BBQ with an opportunity to sample a complimentary tasting plate of kangaroo, buffalo and crocodile meat
- Tonight's accommodation is camping, walking distance is 6km and included meals are lunch and dinner
- Rise bright and early, pack up camp and head to Arnhemland Escarpment at Twin Falls and enjoy fantastic views and swimming in pristine pools, avoiding the crowds
- Enjoy a short 1km walk to Jim Jim Falls, take a plunge into the refreshing pools surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs
- From here head to our camp near Litchfield
- Tonight's accommodation is camping, walking distance is 4km and included meals are breakfast, lunch and dinner
- After another early head to Litchfield National Park, your first stop is Wangi Falls for a swim in its beautiful natural plunge pool
- Visit Tolmer Falls where you will enjoy spectacular views over Litchfield National Park before making your way to relax at Buley Rockhole’s
- Enjoy a picnic lunch and before heading to Florence falls for a cool swim
- On the journey back to Darwin explore Giant Cathedral Termite and Magnetic Termite mounds. You will see hundreds of the mounds built by termite colonies, at times the mounds can reach 5 meters in height
- Return to Darwin approximately 5.30pm, walking distance is 2km and included meals are breakfast and lunch
