Barron River Half Day Rafting - Self Drive
Enjoy a half day of fun on the Barron River with this exhilarating rafting adventure! This is a self-drive option only, hotel transfers are not included.
What to expect
The Beautiful Barron River. Our Port Douglas rafting tours are an adrenalin rush and fantastic introduction to white water rafting. These half day tours are hosted on the Barron River, in the Barron Gorge National Park, part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage area. The natural surroundings are stunning. Towering rainforest mountains, giant granite boulders and the ever-changing face of the river itself, which provides an exciting combination of nail-biting grade 3 rapids and peaceful, calm water floating. Water levels are guaranteed throughout the year, thanks to the operations of the 66 MW Barron Gorge Hydro power station. Our Our Port Douglas rafting tours operate every day. There’s no experience necessary to participate in this Our Port Douglas rafting tour, as our world class River Guides have got you covered.

Location
- Drive your own vehicle to the meeting point, 100 Lake Placid Rd, Caravonica (approximately a 60 minute drive south from Port Douglas)
What To Bring
- A smile on your dial and a sense of adventure. Please wear your swimming costume under your clothes and bring a towel and a spare change of clothes. Also bring your voucher and money for additional refreshments and purchase of any digital photos you may like as an awesome reminder of your epic adventure. _Please leave jewellery and valuables at your accommodation._
- Don't forget to wear secure shoes. Footwear with a heel strap must be worn and hire shoes are available for $5, if you don’t want your shoes getting wet. Thermal tops and dry tops available for $5 for hire each.
- Valuables should be left at your accommodation. The following items can be left on the bus - dry clothes, daily medication, ticket / voucher, wallets and watches.
