General Admission & Turtle Hospital Tour
Meet our rescued turtles, and learn all about the threats and dangers Australia's six species of sea turtles face in a guided Turtle Hospital Tour.
What to expect
A magical encounter with marine life awaits at the Cairns Aquarium. Purchase this combo to receive a single day entry ticket to Cairns Aquarium plus a 30 minute guided tour of the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre. The not-for-profit, volunteer run turtle centre is located at the Cairns Aquarium and are responsible for the care and release of turtles in North Queensland.
Guests will be taken on a guided tour of the Turtle Hospital to meet the sea turtles being cared for and watch an audio-visual presentation about the Great Barrier Reef sea turtles and how you can help protect them. Continue to explore a series of marine exhibits showcasing the animals of the Wet Tropics Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef in the Cairns Aquarium before or after your guided tour.

Time
- Turtle Hospital tour is approximately 30 minutes
- Tours run Monday to Sunday at 11:15am and 12:15pm
- Turtle Tour starts strictly on time
- Cairns Aquarium is open daily from 9.30am to 3.30pm, with last admissions at 2.30pm

- Cairns Aquarium is located at 5 Florence St (on the corners of Abbott, Florence and Lake Sts), only a short walk from all major Cairns City hotels
Terms and Conditions
- Tickets are non-refundable
- Be mindful of your noise, do not make loud noises.
- Do not touch the animals or the contents of their enclosure.
- Do not hang over the side of the enclosure, disturb the water or bang on the outside of the enclosure.
- Photography is permitted unless otherwise stated, please turn your flash off.
- Children are the responsibility of their parents/guardians or carer and must be supervised at all times. Children cannot attend this tour without a guardian present.
- A reminder that this is an educational tour, with an educational presentation that may run for 15 – 20 minutes, please follow the directions of the tour guide whilst on the tour.
- Please tread carefully in this area, do not run in this area. There may be water present on floor from sea turtles.
- Do not remove or take any artefacts or items belonging to the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Hospital or Cairns Aquarium from this area.
- If you are bringing an infant on the tour, please be advised that we can’t have loud noises near sick or injured sea turtles in the hospital, so you may be asked to leave the hospital area in the event of loud noise.
