Taking off at Dawn you rise above Canberra’s unique city design which slowly unfolds beneath you. Experience the peace and tranquility of lighter than air flight over one of the world’s most beautiful cities. We descend gently back down to earth and celebrate your adventure with a glass of bubbly.
Dawn Drifters flies hot-air balloons directly over the centre of Canberra most days of the week, year-round, subject to weather conditions. Passengers drift with the gentle morning winds and enjoy an uninterrupted all round view of Canberra from the Parliament House to the Brindabellas.

How It Works
- After a pre-flight briefing, we will drive you to the launch site where you are welcome to take photos or assist with the inflation of the balloon. The flight lasts between 45 minutes and an hour and offers spectacular views of Canberra.
- On landing we pack up the balloon and enjoy a traditional champagne celebration. Breakfast is not included.

Time
- Operates 7 days
- Meeting times range from 5am to 6.30am. The meeting time for your flight date will be confirmed on booking.
Duration
- Flight duration is approximately 45 minutes to 60 minutes
- The experience will take three to four hours to complete from the time we meet to the time your adventure finishes at the Hyatt

- We meet just before dawn at the Hyatt Hotel (foyer), 120 Commonwealth Ave, Canberra, ACT 2600
What To Bring
- Sturdy flat soled shoes hat and sunglasses
- Long trousers or slacks are preferred to shorts and avoid white clothes. Ballooning is an outdoor adventure experience and white clothes may be soiled
- Don’t forget your camera which may be carried at your own risk
