Discover the spectacle and festivities of Canberra Floriade and the national treasures of our capital in three amazing days.
From Sydney, travel through rolling hills and the green pastures of the Southern Highlands to Berrima and the convict-era sandstone gaol. At working pastoral property - Gold Creek Station, meet a local grazier and enjoy a barbecue lunch.
In Canberra, join a local guide for a tour of Parliament House, seat of Australia’s government. Built entirely of Australian materials, some 10,000 people worked its construction. At the Australian War Memorial, visit the world-class museum, and witness the Last Post Ceremony. Enjoy a unique dinner after-hours at Floriade with the team from Pialligo Estate at their Floriade Marquee Café.
Originally developed as a floral display to celebrate Australia’s Bicentenary and Canberra’s 75th birthday, the month-long Canberra Floriade at Commonwealth Park attracts nearly 500,000 attendees. Each year, the Floriade garden beds are designed to reflect a new theme imagined from a diverse range of blooms. Our day at Canberra Floriade is free for you to enjoy not only over a million flowers in bloom but markets, sculptures, work shops and live music, too.
In keeping with the floral theme, en route back to Sydney, a visit is made to Corbett Gardens in Bowral. Here, some 75,000 tulips are in bloom.
