Itinerary: ATHENS – OLYMPIA – DELPHI – KALAMBAKA – ATHENS – MYKONOS – SANTORINI – ATHENS
Day 1: Athens
On arrival in Athens, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of your day at leisure. Venture out in the evening and enjoy dinner at a traditional Greek tavern (own expense). Stay the next two nights in Athens.
Day 2: Athens (B)
Today is free to explore Athens. First timers to Athens should consider joining a morning sightseeing tour of Athens. This will give you a great overview of this fascinating city and ensure you visit the iconic Acropolis. You could take a tour to Cape Sounion or a day cruise of the Saronic Islands. Alternatively, explore at your own pace. Wander the labyrinth of old streets of Plaka, soak up the atmosphere in a street café or stroll through a local food market and feast on feta and olives.
Day 3: Athens to Olympia (BD)
Depart Athens by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal. Visit the Theatre of Epidaurus, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Overnight in Olympia.
Day 4: Olympia to Delphi (BD)
Spend time at the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. Continue to the picturesque towns of Ilia and Achaia before arriving in Delphi. Overnight in Delphi.
Day 5: Delphi to Kalambaka (BD)
Spend time at the archaeological site and the museum before departing for Kalambaka, a small town at the foot of the giant Meteora rock pillars. Overnight in Kalambaka.
Day 6: Kalambaka to Athens (B)
Visit the famous cliff-top monasteries of Meteora, containing priceless historical and religious treasures. Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, Thermopylae, stopping to admire the Leonida’s Monument. Arrive in Athens early evening where you overnight.
Day 7: Athens to Mykonos (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the port at Piraeus for your ferry ride to Mykonos. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Stay the next two nights on Mykonos.
Day 8: Mykonos (B)
Spend the day discovering Mykonos at your own pace. town. Discover the town’s beautiful narrow streets with white-washed houses, traditional shops and restaurants, charming little chapels and Little Venice with the famous windmills.
Day 9: Mykonos to Santorini (B)
Transfer to the port for your ferry to Santorini, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Stay the next two nights in Santorini.
Day 10: Santorini (B)
Today is free to explore the most photographed island of Greece. Stroll through the streets of the main town of Fira or discover the popular village of Oia. Admire the spectacular caldera, created by the eruption of the island’s volcano in the ancient times and the white-washed houses perched on the edge. Spend a day visiting one of the island’s famous black sand beaches.
Day 11: Santorini to Athens (B)
Enjoy breakfast before transferring to Santorini airport for your flight to Athens.
