Fitzroy Flyer with Glass Bottom Boat Tour
A leisurely cruise in our glass bottom boat Coral Viewer over the fringing reef that surrounds Fitzroy Island viewing the reef environment with talk.
What to expect
Fitzroy Island is an idyllic 339-hectare island, with extensive rainforests and a big beautiful fringing coral reef. It is a relaxing 45-minute ride in our 190-seat air-conditioned Fitzroy Flyer from Marlin Wharf (Cairns) to the sheltered waters of Fitzroy Island.
Enjoy an abundance of water activities available on the island from the Fitzroy Island Sports Hub aka ‘FISH’ open daily and accessed via the steps to the left of the swimming pool. We have packaged Day Tours with a glass bottom boat tour. Visitors can also hire services on arrival to the island including kayaks, snorkels, fins, stinger suits and stand-up paddle boards
Take a leisurely cruise in our glass bottom boat Coral Viewer over the fringing reef that surrounds Fitzroy Island viewing the reef environment with an interpretive talk that enables you to learn more about the different types of fish and corals that surround Fitzroy Island.
Suitable for all ages, this 1 hour guided tour will showcase the coral reefs and marine wildlife surrounding Fitzroy Island, all from the comfort of a glass bottom boat

- Each ticket entitles the holder to a ONE WAY transfer only, please ensure you book your return trip. If you have not booked your return trip, you may not be granted entry to the vessel

- All guests to check-in directly at the Fitzroy Island Booking Centre (Shop 2/1 Spence St Cairns) at least 30 minutes prior to departure to collect wrist bands for the Fitzroy Flyer departures
- After check-in, please proceed to Marlin Wharf Berth 20 – allow 7 minutes to walk to the departure point
- Vessel departs Cairns at 8am
- Make your way to the Fitzroy Island Jetty 15 minutes prior to departure to get your name marked off.
- Vessel departs Fitzroy Island at 5pm
