What to expect

Depart Portsmouth and head for France. Stopping in Rouen (Paris) the first thing you notice is the Cathedral of Notre Dame towering high above the city.  Next stop is Honfleur a lively town and bustling port where fishermen can be seen hauling the daily catch. Cherbourg was occupied by the Germans during World War II and has an important military history and roots that stretch back to the 9th century Viking invasion. Don't forget to try out Saint-Malo specialties of crepes and cider and stroll along cobblestone streets. Brest is a modern city with historic touches that provide a glimpse into its rich maritime history. Financed by the almighty grape, enjoy the city of Bordeaux with its classical style.
