What to expect

There’s nothing better than being with your family and exploring a great destination like Kangaroo Island. There are so many fun things to see and do and this package includes just a few of the Island’s most popular experiences.

An early morning departure from Adelaide and take in the scenic Fleurieu Peninsula as you make your way to Cape Jervis to board the SeaLink ferry service to Kangaroo Island. Kangaroo Island is over 155km in length and 55km wide and is Australia’s third largest Island. During the next four days, you will have the opportunity to take in some of the spectacular coastal scenery, beautiful beaches, adventure activities, scenic landscapes, and fantastic National Parks.

Stay at Al-Pac-Em Inn, located just outside of Kingscote. The modern holiday house can sleep up to 8 people, and children under the age of 3 are free of charge. Al-Pac-Em Inn has a fully appointed kitchen, BBQ, washing machine and all linen is provided. Also included is reverse cycle air conditioning, flat screen TV and DVD, and provides a private and restful setting for guests to relax and unwind while the children play safely in a secure yard. Children in particular, will find their stay very interesting at ‘Al-PacEm Inn’ where they can pat and cuddle all the wonderful farm animals, including miniature ponies, cows, goats and the always entertaining alpacas. In the spring you can bottle feed the orphaned baby lambs (when available) or hand feed Kate the Clydesdale.

Visit KI’s popular attraction, Raptor Domain, where the family can take up their Twin Offer. See raptors in the “Free Flight” presentation, offering a unique and entertaining experience. Meet an array of birds including Jedda, the majestic Wedge Tailed Eagle, Casper the friendly Barn Owl and meet Banjo and Clancy, the laughing Kookaburras. At the Fang-Tastic Venom/Reptile Show, you will meet an array of reptiles, including some of Australia’s venomous creatures. You will also learn some interesting facts about reptiles in Australia.

Little Sahara is an area of spectacular white sand dunes, surrounded by bush vegetation. Take your sand board and toboggan and climb to the top of the razorback ridges and enjoy a thrilling ride to the bottom. As an option, you can experience the thrill of quad biking on a Quad Bike Discovery Tour with KI Outdoor Action (additional cost).

Explore the wonders of this great Island such as the Seal Bay Conservation Park where you can go on a guided beach walk with an experienced park ranger to be amongst a colony of rare and wild Australian sea Lions – a truly amazing and unforgettable experience (additional cost).

Visit Flinders Chase National Park, a sanctuary for native Australian wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and echidnas.

Get some awesome photo opportunities at Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch, a natural nursery and safe haven for playful Long-nosed fur seals that can be seen resting, swimming and playing in the waves or on the rocks (entry fee into the Flinders Chase National Park is an additional cost).

Terms and conditions: All prices are per person, in Australian dollars and valid for travel 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025, for other dates, please enquire. Family price is based on 2 adults and 2 children (3-14 years). Extra child and adult prices are available on request. Prices are subject to availability of all components, surcharges, blackout periods, minimum night stays and seasonal variations. Peak Vehicle Ferry Fares will apply to some dates and departures and will be an additional fee advised on booking. Other KI properties are available to be included in this package, so should Al-Pac-Em Inn not be available, you can choose an alternative property that would suit the family’s requirements. Package price will vary based on the accommodation you select, please enquire. SeaLink Kangaroo Island Coach & Ferry does not operate on Christmas Day.
