Daily onsite experiences choose from:
Lodge Welcome: Each evening our guests are invited to gather on the valley rim at sunset where you are introduced to the Sequoia story, the region and our experiences during your time at the lodge. Listen to the fascinating stories of our region, enjoy some local wines and share some delicious Adelaide Hills produce. This is the perfect opportunity to meet fellow guests.
Sunrise yoga: Yoga is a transformative pathway to a stronger body and calmer mind. At sunrise, join our local practitioner for a private and bespoke session of movement, designed for beginners and advanced yogis alike. With a focus on connection to the land, this session will break from reality and put you in touch with the nature and wildlife surrounds.
Make & Somm: A South Australian based winemaker will join one of our sommeliers for an hour to pour, discuss and taste their wines. A rare opportunity to spend time with the duo, in an intimate, creative, and informative setting. Canapés and tapas are appropriately paired with the wine selection. The Maker & Somm series will answer all your pressing wine questions.
Le Nez Du Vin: Who has never sighed ‘I know this smell but I can’t put a name on it’? Learn about the aromas from nature or perfumery through ‘The Nose of the Wine’ kit designed by Jean Lenoir, consisting of 54 superb quality aromas for making rapid progress in wine tasting. Join this experience, led by one of our sommeliers, for a playful way to practice and learn the notes.
Guided Nature Walk: Absorb the land, nature and wildlife surrounding Sequoia on our daily walk, guided by our experience team. Hike along the Heysen Trail, up to long ridge look-out, observing sweeping views of Adelaide and the Mount Lofty Ranges. Be sure to look for Kangaroos, Koalas and wallabies. The team will greet you with refreshments and a transfer back to the lodge.
Star Gazing: From dusk until midnight, gaze into the stars that light up the Piccadilly Valley, with Sequoia’s private telescope. Locate ancient constellations and planets, and discover thousands of stars that are exclusive to the Southern Hemisphere and can only be viewed in this part of the world.
Artesian Hot Pools: The Estate is connected to the local ancient natural spring waters that run deep down in the mountain. The naturally filtered springs feed every tap on the estate and provide for the lodge’s bottled water. You can also reap its benefits when relaxing in the artesian spring-fed hot pool or infinity pool overlooking on the valley rim.
Hiking & Cycling: Mount Lofty Estate lies above the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden and also provides access to the famous Heysen Trail that runs 1,200km across South Australia. The Adelaide Hills are famous for its exceptional network of hiking trails and loved by all cycling enthusiasts. The Sequoia team can organise hiking sticks, (electric) bicycles and private tour guides.
