Parrtjima - A festival of light

4.5 star accommodation

What to expect

Parrtjima is the meeting place where old meets new. It is the only authentic Aboriginal light festival of its kind, showcasing the oldest continuous culture on earth through the newest technology – all on the 300-million-year-old natural canvas of the MacDonnell Ranges in Central Australia. Experience this incredible festival of light during a six day self drive adventure. See the desert come alive with new artworks, light shows, performances and more. Parrtjima is a free festival held on Mparntwe (Alice Springs), the starting place for your drive. Tour the town of Alice Springs and watch the sunset while astride a camel. Drive to Uluru and discover this spiritual place. Learn about the mysteries of the outback sky on an astronomy tour and enjoy the magical A Night at Field of Light dining experience against the backdrop of Uluru and the 50,000 coloured light art installation.
