What to expect

Visit Italy on an adventure from Rome to Amalfi on this Intrepid 8 day tour.

If you want a short trip packed with diversity, then this tour of southern Italy is the adventure for you. Acquaint yourself with Italy's 'Eternal City' of Rome and learn about the catastrophic fate of Pompeii. Soak up the sunshine in the coastal town of Sorrento and explore the beautiful Amalfi Coast. This trip offers the chance to delve into history, culture and cuisine and to live a little of la dolce vita.

Discover the well-preserved ruins of Pompeii with a local guide and get a glimpse into what daily Roman life was like before the city’s tragic fate in 79 AD.
Hike up to the crater rim of the still active Mt Vesuvius (1281 m) – known for the eruption that covered Pompeii with ash – where you’ll have prime views over the Bay of Naples.
Spend a couple of days exploring the seaside resort town of Sorrento – famous for its old streets, fresh seafood and lemon groves – and enjoy a tasting of tangy limoncello liqueur.
