Sip & Sail Sunset Cruise
Relax onboard a luxury yacht while sailing in the waters surrounding Magnetic Island.
What to expect
Join us on board a beautiful 58-foot yacht for a sunset sail in Cleveland Bay. Enjoy the magic of sailing while you sip Australian organic wines or premium local beers, nibble on our hand-selected cheese platter.
There is plenty of space to sit back and dream, with no more than 12 guests on board.
Our attentive crew will ensure you have everything you need to relax. If you're up for a chat or want some recommendations about things to do on the island, don't hesitate to ask the crew, or if you want some time out to yourselves, we'll understand and will leave you to it!

How It Works
The Cruise:
After a full briefing to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe, we'll head out of the marina and pull up sails and go sailing.
Once under sail, you will enjoy wines from a selection of Tamburlaine Organic Wines, which include Sparkling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling and a Rose. (Note, we don't serve red wine onboard)
Alternatively, for non-wine drinkers, there is the locally brewed beer from the Townsville Brewery or soft drinks. All drinks are unlimited and included in the price.
There is also a delicious cheese platter to enjoy with your wine - be sure to try the homemade pumpkin chutney!
The route of the cruise in Cleveland Bay will depend on the wind (strength and direction). The skipper will ensure that it is the most comfortable ride for the prevailing conditions and will also line the boat up for the perfect view of the sun setting over Magnetic Island - make sure your cameras are ready!
Once the sun has dropped below the island, we will lower the sails and motor back into Nelly Bay Harbour in time for your dinner plans.
Itinerary
- You'll be met on the Peppers Deck by one of our crew. Times vary throughout the year.
- The crew will show you to the boat and make sure you're comfortable on board before departing the marina.
- Once the sails are up, you'll be served a selection of local wines, beers and soft drinks followed by a local cheese platter.
- Relax as we sail along and enjoy the sun setting on another day in paradise.
Time
- Our start time varies throughout the year depending on the time the sun sets
- Indicative times are as follows (please check your booking confirmation for exact time):
- November to March: 5-5:30pm depending on the date. Please catch the 4:30pm Sealink ferry
- April to October 4:15pm to 4:30pm. Please catch the 3:50pm Sealink ferry
- Times listed above are the meeting time (not vessel departure time)
- Tours unavailable on 25th December and 1st January
Duration
- This experience runs for 90 minutes to 2 hours
Departure Location
- We depart from Magnetic Island Marina, Nelly Bay
- One of the crew will meet you on the corner of the Peppers Blue on Blue deck
- & next to the Car Ferry Ramp 15 minutes before the scheduled cruise start time
- Look out for someone in a white "Pilgrim Sailing" shirt and make yourself known to them
- Please do not come to the boat as it is a private marina, and all guests must be escorted
- After the cruise, Pilgrim will return to the same location
