What to expect

Immerse yourself in our beautiful alpine environment with sightseeing and walking at Cardrona. At over 1800m above sea level, breathe the fresh alpine air and take in the stunning 360-degree views of the Southern Alps, Lake Wakatipu and Lake Hawea. Choose between a gentle stroll from the top of McDougall’s Chondola up to our viewing platform and alpine swing, or a more adventurous hike on our Captain’s Circuit alpine trails.

Take a gondola ride on McDougall’s Chondola from the resort base and get a bird’s eye view of all the action on the trails below,
The best way to explore the mountain at a leisurely pace, taking in the outstanding alpine views with the peaks and glaciers of the Southern Alps laid out in front of you.
Access to 4 walking trails ranging from an easy downhill stroll to an alpine adventure across the ridgetops lasting a couple of hours.
Check out our Alpine Swing, located just behind the McDougalls Chondola Top Station. It’s the perfect spot to soak up the views overlooking Soho Basin.
Includes a leisurely gondola ride back down to base or return via Skyline walking trail
