What to expect
A cruise on the lovingly nicknamed 'Lady of the Lake' is a great day for the whole family. Originally launched in 1912, a journey on this vintage vessel is a memorable trip back in time.
With over 100 years of steam-powered journeys under her belt, the TSS Earnslaw is believed to be the oldest passenger-carrying twin-screw steamer still operating in the Southern Hemisphere.
While you’re cruising on a piece of history, you can soak in the stunning panoramic mountain views on the decks, watch as the stokers fuel and operate inside the engine room from the viewing platform, and learn about the history of the steamship in the on-board museum.
The TSS Earnslaw makes daily trips across Lake Whakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm. On arrival, stay on board, or upgrade to disembark and experience high-country farming life and delicious dining options.

- TSS Earnslaw will undergo annual maintenance during winter months when the cruise will not run
Time
- Cruises depart from the RealNZ Visitor Centre, Steamer Wharf, Queenstown daily 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.
- Please ensure you check-in at least 15 minutes prior to departure
- Parking in Summer months can be challenging, please ensure you allow ample time to park your car and check in for your departure
- All vouchers must be exchanged for boarding passes prior to boarding at the TSS Earnslaw Visitor Centre 20 minutes prior to departure time

- RealNZ Visitor Centre, Steamer Wharf, 88 Beach Street, Queenstown.
- Please meet us in front of the TSS Earnslaw, Steamer Wharf Dock.
